Iranian forces kill 13 militants in southeast raid

The clashes took place in Sistan-Baluchistan province, a region long troubled by unrest. According to a statement released by the Guards and broadcast on state television, several other suspects were also arrested during coordinated raids in the cities of Iranshahr, Khash and Saravan.

Authorities said the militants were linked to an ambush last Friday in Iranshahr that left five police officers dead.

Security forces described the operation as part of a wider effort to curb violence in the province, which has seen repeated attacks targeting both police and civilians.
