PRESS RELEASE
The Alumni Association of the National Institute (AANI) heartily congratulates Senator Ken Nnamani, GCON, distinguished former President of the Senate and Chairman, Governing Board of the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS), Kuru, on the occasion of his 77th birthday, today, 2nd November 2025.
Senator Nnamani, who served as President of the Senate from 2005 to 2007, is widely celebrated for providing stabilising leadership that helped safeguard Nigeria’s democracy at a critical moment in our national history. His principled stand on constitutionalism and democratic integrity remains a reference point in national governance.
Before his illustrious legislative career, Senator Nnamani excelled in the private sector, working in international development consulting and holding senior managerial positions in multinational organisations. His breadth of experience shaped his pragmatic approach to public service.
His contributions have extended well beyond the Senate Chamber. As a respected elder statesman, he has continued to play strategic roles in governance, peacebuilding, electoral reform, and national dialogue.
Today, as Chairman of the NIPSS Governing Board, Senator Nnamani has brought renewed dynamism and visionary leadership to the Institute — reinforcing its central mandate as the national strategic think tank and strengthening its relationship with AANI and nominating institutions across Nigeria.
On behalf of the entire AANI family, Ambassador Emmanuel Obi Okafor, mni, President of AANI, celebrates the Chairman as a national asset, a voice of reason, and a pillar of democratic stability whose contributions continue to advance the national interest.
We pray that Almighty God will grant him many more years of sound health, wisdom, and fulfilment in his tireless service to our dear country.
Happy 77th Birthday, Distinguished Chairman!
AANI honours you. Nigeria salutes you.
Your legacy continues to illuminate the path Towards a Better Society.
