Speaking at an event for people with albinism, Eno said discrimination nearly cost him his political career, with critics once insisting the state did not need an albino governor.

He revealed that his wife gave him strength during that period, often calling him her “golden boy.”

“Growing up with albinism was tough. I was mocked and body-shamed, but God’s grace has brought me this far. Today, I make it a point to honour anyone with this condition. They are golden people, and they have a golden governor,” he said.

The governor, Nigeria’s first leader with albinism, pledged continued support for the community, stressing that his emergence has turned years of stigma into a symbol of pride.
