According to the Defence Headquarters, the rescues took place between August 21 and 27, 2025, in several states including Borno, Yobe, Katsina, Kaduna, Sokoto, Zamfara, Benue, Taraba, Nasarawa, Kogi, Delta, Rivers, as well as the Federal Capital Territory.
Director of Defence Media Operations, Major General Markus Kangye, said in a statement on Friday that the largest success was recorded in Katsina State, where 76 victims regained their freedom after airstrikes targeted terrorist camps at Pauwa Hill in Kankara Local Government Area.
He added that troops also rescued five hostages across parts of Borno and Yobe States, including Bama, Gwoza, Chibok, Monguno, Mobbar, Konduga and Gujba local government areas.
The Defence Headquarters assured that operations to dismantle terrorist enclaves and free more abducted persons are ongoing nationwide.
