Rotary Club Umudike Central unveils N9m community development projects

The initiative was unveiled on Sunday in Umuahia during the installation of the club’s 22nd president, Rotarian Chigozie Iwegbulam, who pledged to lead with empathy, accountability, and impact.

Her agenda, tagged “Sacred Trust”, features four flagship projects valued at more than N9 million. They include Restoring Dignity in Education, a Community Health Outreach, an Economic Empowerment Programme, and an Environmental Sustainability Campaign.

One of the priority projects is the renovation of a six-room toilet block at Umuaraga Umudike Primary School in Ikwuano Local Government Area. The project, estimated at N3.2 million, is expected to improve sanitation, restore dignity, and enhance the learning environment for pupils.

Iwegbulam noted that the projects reflect Rotary’s core values of service to humanity and called on partners and stakeholders to support the club’s mission of uplifting communities.

The event was attended by members of the Rotary family, government officials, and community leaders, who commended the new leadership for setting ambitious but people-focused goals.
