Customs Intercepts Contraband Worth N13bn at Onne Port

The operation was carried out by the Area II Command following weeks of intelligence gathering.

Comptroller General Bashir Adeniyi said the interception prevented harmful products from reaching Nigerian markets, noting that the seizure demonstrated the agency’s renewed focus on border security. He added that those behind the importation would be prosecuted.

The agency restated its commitment to protecting citizens’ health and supporting the federal government’s drive to strengthen the economy by curbing smuggling.
